A cool modern alternative to a traditional wedding dress

Bridal separates are a great alternative to the more traditional wedding dress for those who want a cool relaxed vibe for their big day.

Sally Lacock’s pieces are designed with this in mind but lose none of the beautiful detailing, exquisite cut and fit or sumptuous fabrics that are found in her wedding dress collection. Tops have been designed to sit comfortably over skirts to avoid exposed midriffs and the fabrics are carefully chosen to work together.

Wearing your bridal separates again

One of the biggest inspirations in creating a range of bridal separates for Sally was the possibility of them being worn again after the wedding. What was once a beautiful silk and lace bridal top can become a favourite going out piece when paired with jeans or a favourite skirt. Some of Sally’s brides have delighted in wearing their tops out for a wedding anniversary dinner or a smaller celebration with friends who couldn’t make it to the wedding.

Separates add versatility to bridal styling

Long gone are the days when a bride wore her dress for the ceremony and wedding breakfast before changing into a ‘going away outfit’ and being whisked off on a honeymoon. Modern fun loving brides want to party into the wee small hours and need their outfit to allow this.

Many of Sally’s brides have styled one skirt with 2 different tops, one for day and a different one for evening.  For couples who have come together from across continents there may be a celebration in 2 countries which call for different looks. This can be achieved very successfully with Bridal Separates by changing just one part of the outfit.

The Mace skirt paired with the Lavender blouse is perfect for a country garden but paired with the mint bodice is strikingly elegant

One particular favourite styling choice was by a client determined not to have her dancing hindered and fearing damaging her romantic lace Cicely bridal skirt, so she chose a luxurious cream leather pencil skirt to pair with her Lavender blouse for the evening celebration. How chic is that!
