About the designer and her work

Launched in 2010, Sally Lacock’s eponymous collection of vintage-inspired bridal gowns was a natural progression from her accomplished career in design along with her enduring passion for lace, love of the decadent days of the 1920’s and the artistic sensibility of Edwardian bohemia.

Building on the foundations of her signature and much sought after wedding dresses – the serendipity of Isadora and the relaxed, uncontrived style of Violet, Sally’s collections evolve naturally, eschewing the creative confinements of working according to seasons.

Integral to Sally’s design practice is the appreciation of historic style, re-imagined for today’s modern bride. Conveying the delicate nature and beauty often found only in vintage pieces, her work embodies lightness of touch in combination with modernity and a youthful attitude to ensure that the final look is one of effortlessness, grace and femininity.

In antique tones that range from ivory and silver to mink and gold the dresses are made of sumptuous silks and the finest French lace, adorned with hand sewn silk flowers, distinctive glass buttons and vintage details, all designed and cut by Sally herself and hand made in the UK by highly skilled couture seamstresses.

Her vision is one of respect for time-honoured skills combined with romantic vintage appeal, reflective of her friendly, bespoke service based in her delightful Dalston studio.
